| Project completed 1997 as graduate student at the Academy of Graphic and Plastic Arts, Munich Germany - with Prof. Otto Steidle. The design of the Kyongju High-Speed Railway Station was developed in response to the dynamic and diverse influences of a rural site, an ancient culture and a futuristic, environmentally responsible, high-speed transportation system. |

| The station is organized with a massive block-like core interrupted by three sweeping curves; the resulting space is bridged by glass enclosures. The central core is the junction for all activities within the station and binds the three curved walls. Each wall is actually a slender volume serving a distinct function: a massive thermal storage wall, a circulation zone, and an outlook platform to break the rigidity of the tracks. |
